CASA Christmas
About CASA
Every year more than 500,000 abused and neglected children require safe, permanent, nourishing homes. Too many spend years moving from one temporary home to another. They have no family to call their own. They are more likely than other children to face homelessness, unemployment, and even prison as adults.
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) was created in 1977 to make sure the abuse and neglect these children suffered at home does not continue as abuse and neglect at the hands of the system. As trained advocates, CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to be a voice for these children in court, resulting in children being placed into safe, loving homes where they can thrive.
OSCA + CASA
Each December, the Ocean Springs Carnival Association (OSCA) sponsors Christmas for a group of children currently in the Jackson & George County CASA program. Proceeds that OSCA collects throughout the year are used to purchase Christmas presents for these children.
Any support that you can provide will be much appreciated.
In 2022 and 2023, OSCA raised $8,500 and purchased Christmas presents for 40 children.
